Michael L. Freed
Mr. Freed has represented a variety of individuals and business entities in the State of Hawaii. His areas of practice include federal and state civil litigation, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Business Law, Construction Law, Insurance Defense and Personal Injury, Real Estate, General Maritime and Administrative Law. Mr. Freed has been appointed as an Arbitrator, Mediator and Advisory Committee Member by the American Arbitration Association. In addition, he serves as a Panel Member for the National Arbitration Forum and the Federal Court mediation panel. He has served as counsel to the Hawaii Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors for 15 years. Mr. Freed authored Preventing Wrongful Discharge Claims, 1987; Managing Employee Conflict, 1988; How to Interview, Hire, Discipline & Terminate, 1989; Employment Discrimination, EEO & Hawaii State Laws, 1990; Personnel Policies and Employee Handbooks, 1989, 1990, 1991; The Americans with Disabilities Act - A Challenge for the Construction Industry, 1991; Employment Aspects of the Americans with Disabilities Act, 1992; and Prevailing Wage Workshops, 1992-2000. Mike and his wife, Pam, have three children and two grandchildren. The family owns a vineyard in Oregon where they now spend several months a year while still telecommuting to maintain close contact with the office and his clients.
